Do You Want to Help Keep Our Trails Safe?
The Town of Mansfield’s Conservation Department is currently looking for volunteers to help with walking our major conservation areas and reporting any issues along the trails. The Trail Steward Program will promote the ongoing healthy, safe and passable trails throughout Mansfield
In October 2022, The Conservation Department conducted a Trail Steward Assessment Workshop (see video link below) will train you on how conduct a trail assessment and how to fill out the trail assessment reporting forms. You will also be trained on minor trail maintenance activities to help keep the trails clear from overgrowth and downed branches
*The use of electric/gas powered hand tools (chainsaw, sawsall, electric hedge trimmers, etc.) will not be permitted. Minors under the age of 18 should have an adult sign the waiver and accompany them.
We will be assessing the following trails systems:

- Sweets Pond- off Otis St.
- Great Woods-off Oak St.
- Marie Strese-off Ware St.
- Corporal Hardy- off Maple St.
- Taylor’s Hill-off Judy’s Lane
- Plymouth Street-within Plymouth St Recreation Area
- Mill Pond-off of East St.

If you are interested in volunteering for the Trail Steward Program, please watch the video link above, fill out this registration form and the volunteer waiver below . Please submit registration forms to Katelyn Merrill Gonyer, Environmental and Conservation Planner, via hard copy at the Conservation Department in townhall or email the pdf to trails@mansfieldma.com. Please call 508.851.6545 with any questions
I look forward to working with residents that care about these trails and are willing to help keep Mansfield’s trails safe and enjoyable for all!
