In an effort to reduce personal contact during the COVID-19 pandemic, MPD would like to encourage everyone to use our online resources for records requests. A request can be submitted by simply emailing If you need to speak with someone, call 508-261-7300 and press extension 2 and a member of our public records team will return your call. 

If you are involved in a motor vehicle accident where someone is injured, or if there is over $1000 in damage to a vehicle or property, you must submit an accident report to the Registry of Motor Vehicles within five days.

In an effort to provide citizens and insurance companies with the ability to obtain accurate affordable crash reports as quickly as possible, our crash reports are now available for purchase online. All online requests for crash reports can be made at charges a nominal convenience fee for this service which is added to the cost of the report. Involved parties that do not wish to pay the convenience fee can still request a report from MPD by emailing (reports typically arrive one week after the request is received).
