The DPW-Water Division is responsible for producing potable drinking water that meets both state and federal drinking water standards, as well as the Town of Mansfield Regulations & Fee Schedule Policy.

Water Licensing & Permits 

Applications for Water Installer License, Application to Install Water Service, site plan review, Demolition Permit & Building Permit authorization

Water Emergencies 

Staff is on call 24/7 for water related emergencies; main break, hydrant damage, service mark out, water curb and/or valve shut-off, water on, or treatment plant emergencies. After 7am-3pm business hours, Dial 911 for immediate response.

New installations, replacements, meter readings, pressure or flow issues

Water Conservation

Water conservation rebates, seasonal pool filling, water audits, educational program & group tours, mandatory outdoor water restrictions (May 1-Sept 30th).

Water notices and communications, Email notification distribution list, and social media 

Regulatory Requirements 

Provides monthly & annual reports to various state agencies water quality report, statistical report, source water protection, emergency response training

Cross Connection Control Program

Survey inspection, backflow testing, recordkeeping and billing

Water Infrastructure 

Recommends and/or oversees implementation of capital improvement projects approved by Mansfield Town Meeting

GIS Mapping 

Data collection and electronic record keeping related to water main pipes, services, gates, hydrants
