Sturdy Memorial Hospital

The Mansfield Fire Department will  gladly accept your PROPERLY CONTAINED (in an approved BIOHAZARD  container) sharps.

All sharps (used or  not) must be in a Bio Hazard container.  The Mansfield Fire  Department was given a supply of 75 biohazard containers.  They will  be given out on a first come first serve basis to people as they  come in to drop off sharps. We can no longer accept sharps in any  other type of container. (No milk cartons, laundry detergent  bottles, coffee cans etc.)  When you arrive with your sharps  that are not in an approved biohazard container, we will give you a  container (while supplies last) and ask that you take it  home, transfer your sharps into the biohazard container, and then  return the biohazard container when it is completely full.

When you arrive at the  Plymouth Street Fire Station, you will be escorted to the drop off  area where you, yourself, will place your biohazard box in the  collection container.  Members of the Mansfield Fire Department will  no longer physically handle and deposit the items for you.

Please, do not ever leave your sharps container at an  unattended fire station.  If you happen to come by when no one is  available to escort you to the sharps disposal area, please keep  your sharps and return at another time.

We thank you for taking the time to  properly dispose of your sharps.

If you have any  questions about dropping off your sharps,
please call (508) 261-7493, or email wbacklund@mansfieldma.com
