The Emergency Management Agency is charged with the overall "Emergency Preparedness Planning" for the Town of Mansfield.  This includes the coordination of all resources of the Town, public and private, professional and volunteer, to avert or combat the effects of disaster.  A pool of trained volunteers is provided to the Town in both emergency and non-emergency situations.

The office for the Emergency Management Agency is located in the Police Facility at 50 West Street.  The entrance is off the main lobby.  This office also serves as our main communications center.  A training and meeting room, as well as equipment storage, is located on the first floor of the Town Office Building, 6 Park Row.

The Emergency Management Agency is divided into five operational units and members may belong to one or more of these units:

Administrative/Operations: Review and update the emergency plans and resource inventories for the town.  Also provides operational support during events.

Communications: Amateur and Citizen Band Radio Operators who provide communications during events.  For those with an interest in Amateur Radio, we will provide classes to help you obtain your license.

Engineering: Provide equipment maintenance and acquisition.

Medical: EMTs and first aiders who provide volunteer services at various events.  Active members receive CPR and First Aid training.  Continuing education credit is also available for active members who are EMTs.

Auxiliary/Reserve Police: Volunteer police support services.
