MANSFIELD EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY

Services Provided


Non-emergency services provided include the following:

  • CPR and first aid training
  • EMT, first aid, and communications coverage at various events such as school department sporting events, football, field hockey, Special Olympics, recreation events, road races, etc.
  • Amateur radio training courses

Emergency services provided include the following:

  • Information hot line on the status of the emergency, i.e. power restoration progress
  • Provide timely updates to local radio stations and cable television
  • Provide volunteers and equipment to aid in the emergency, road clearance, etc.
  • Shelter operation
  • Transportation for those with an emergency/critical job assignment via 4-wheel drive vehicles, i.e. doctors and nurses to local hospitals
  • Emergency power for those with a critical need, i.e. oxygen generating machines
  • Coordinate requests for aid and assistance to state and federal officials
  • Coordinate disaster assistance to residents during a declared disaster
  • Provide emergency radio communications via amateur radio
  • Provide local severe weather condition reports to the National Weather Service

The Emergency Management Team is normally called out as a group 12-14 times per year.  Activities range from lost person searches to winter storm related duties.

Volunteers are always welcome.  All that is required is a willingness and dedication to serve.  The required training will be provided.
