COA SUMMER CINEMA PUB
COA Cinema Pub will be held through the summer. All movies are held at the COA and begin at 3:00 PM. Donation is $1 per person, and includes refreshments. Registration is required. For information, or for reservations, please call Louise at 508-261-7368. The schedule of movies is the following:
• Thursday, July 8th: “Julie and Julia” starring Meryl Streep as Julia Child, based on a true story;
• Thursday, August 12th: “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” a hilarious love story about the clash of cultures;
• Thursday, September 2nd: “Blind Side” starring Academy Award winner Sandra Bullock, based upon a true story.
PAWSOX TRIP
The annual COA PawSox trip to McCoy Stadium will be held on Tuesday, August 3rd for the 12:00 PM game against the Durham Bulls, the AAA team for the Tampa Bay Rays.
Transportation will leave from the COA at 10:30 AM, and is provided free of charge. Those in attendance should plan to bring money for ball park food and snacks. There is one additional ticket available—seats are in the reserved seating section and cost $11. For information, or for ticket purchase, please call Debi at 508-261-7368.
FRIENDS AND TRIAD SPONSOR SUMMER GALA
Mansfield Triad and the Friends of the Drop In Center are once again joining together to sponsor the annual Summer Celebration at the COA. Tickets are now on sale for the Clam and Lobster Bake on Friday, August 6th at 11:30 AM.
The menu features New England clam chowder, steamed clams and lobster with drawn butter, potatoes with onions and corn on the cob, corn bread with butter, apple crisp and beverages. For those who prefer, a 1/2 barbequed chicken may be substituted for the lobster.
Entertainment will be provided by MMAS after the meal. Ticket prices are $20 per person for the lobster meal and $15 per person for the chicken meal. Space is limited and reservations will be taken until Wednesday, July 28th. For reservations, or for information, please call Louise at 508-261-7368.
TM COFFEE HOUR
The Town Manager Coffee Hours will resume on Thursday, September 23rd at 10:00 AM. All seniors are invited—refreshments are available.
MANSFIELD TRAID PLANS ANNUAL PASTA FEAST
Mansfield Triad is holding the annual Pasta Feast on Monday, September 27th at 5:30 PM, at the Council On Aging, 255 Hope Street. The Pasta Feast is an all-you-can-eat event, and the food is prepared and served by members of the Mansfield Fire and Police Departments.
The menu includes pasta with home-made sauce, meatballs, Italian bread with butter, tossed salad, desserts and beverages. A guest speaker will present a program about current issues in public safety. Entertainment will follow the presentation.
Tickets are $5 per person, and will go on sale starting in July. For information, or to purchase tickets, please call the COA at 508-261-7368. Proceeds from this event are used to defray the cost of Triad sponsored community safety projects.
Mansfield Triad is a program of the Mansfield Council On Aging, and members include seniors and staff members from the Mansfield Council on Aging, Fire and Police Departments, and the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office. To join Triad, or for information, please call Gale at 508-261-7368.
COA PLANS BOSTON TRIP
Save the date! The COA is planning a theater trip to Boston! Tickets will be available for the 1:00 PM, December 22nd performance of the Boston Ballet’s world renowned “Nutcracker.” Tickets will be about $47 per person, and the trip is limited to 25 people.
Transportation will be provided to and from the theater. Tickets will be purchased in July. To register for this event, please call the COA at 508-261-7368. Ticket payment will be due at the time of purchase in July.
